Sunday Surprise - Child Protection

Today is for my boy...he is sweet, kind, thoughtful, polite, maddening, smart-alecky, frustratingly able to push every one of my buttons until I am so mad I can't see straight, then walk over to me, lay his head against my side, smile up at me so sweetly it makes me want to weep, and say "Mommy, I love you." That's all. That's all he needs to do, to re-wrap me around that little finger of his.
Every night since his conception (don't ask me how I knew, I just did...) I have either re-built the shield around him, or strengthened it. I have missed a few nights when I was extremely ill, but, even though it is "built" in such a way that it doesn't need to be attended daily, I still do it. It keeps me connected to him, allows me to send extra energy to areas that are in need (like when he's sick), and calms me as much as it protects him....
The initial "shield was created by visualization of a ball of deep blue protective energy being created around him. I do the outline first, clockwise, while saying

"Circle of power & protective energy, return all negativity to the sender by three"
three times. Once created, the spell is spoken:

"North to South (visualize the "ball starting to form as the top & bottom come together) East to West (same visualization, only the sides are now forming)

"North to South, East to West,
Protect this child, do your best
Keep him safe and free from harm,
Keep him dry, keep him warm,
Let to those who wish him ill,
Their wish return with vengeance & will
Let him be always, happy & free

This is my will, So Mote It Be!"

As the last line is spoken, I place my hands on the shield and "ignite" it with Deep Pulsing Blue protective energy. The shield is filled with the beautiful Green of good health & healing, as well as a muted, calming Peachish color. These energies surround him fully, as well as fill him fully...
I have a few more things child related to share today. I have included credit to the author, when I know who it is :)

Child's Bedtime Prayer

Day is done
It's time for bed
Goddess bless my sleepy head
Earth and Water
Air and Fire
Bring gentle dreams as I retire
When the morning sun does rise
The God will bless my open eyes

Sentinel Spell

To protect a child at night, light a white candle and some incense on the floor of the child's room. Take a toy that looks like it might scare monsters under the bed (a lion, tiger, bear or dragon) and pass it over the candle and through the incense smoke. Sprinkle the toy with water and salt, saying:"Elements of Fire, Air, Water and Earth, charge this sentinel. Drive away all scary things. Only good may pass!" Place the sentinel in a spot where it can oversee the room and the child. Recharge once a week.
*A sidenote here - we've not had many "afraid of..." problems with our boy, but for a short period, he did have some issues. We have a (growing) collection of dragons in our home. Daddy took one of his small dragons into the boy's room, and placed it on a high shelf where it could see & be seen, and told Shayne that he now had his own "Guardian Dragon" (like he doesn't have enough...) It worked like a charm...uhhhh, no pun intended....

Child's Protection Bracelet
By: Kirin Lee

A special kind of bracelet was used to protect children in ancient Egypt. It utilized the number seven, which the Egyptians considered to be a magic number. To make your own bracelet, string seven agate and seven gold-colored beads on a thin cord in an alternating pattern. While doing this, concentrate on your purpose and visualize the bracelet protecting your child. Knot each end to keep the beads in place. You may put knots between the beads if you wish. Leave enough cord on each end for tying the bracelet around the child's wrist. If it's too large, wrap it around the wrist more than once before tying.

For My Child

Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry,
and pick you up and take you to the park to play.
Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink,
and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.
Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and
keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow
bubbles.
Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one if he comes by.
Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second-guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.
Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.
Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald’s and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.
Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.
Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.
Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.
Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.
Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that Mother Goddess has given me the greatest gift ever given.
I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore.
And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank my Goddess for you, and ask her for nothing, except one more day.............

Thursday This Is Your Spell - Money Spells

I apologize for missing Tuesday & Wednesday, but I've been down with stomach problems, and blogging was probably the furthest thing from my mind...well ok, FOOD was the furthest from my mind, but the blogs ran a close second... I am posting several Money Spells to kinda make up for it...

Money Growing Spell
Source Unknown (If this is yours, please let me know so I can credit you)

Take several coins of different denominations and a 2 oz. bottle of "Watch Us Grow" liquid fertilizer, instant action 8-8-8. Dig a hole in the ground put the coins in. Pour the liquid in the hole on the coins, and say:

"I place the seedlings down below,
and now stand back and watch them grow.
Be it done ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !!"

* Urgent Money Spell *
From The Good Spell Book by Gillian Kemp

I have this book, and have referenced it often, mainly because it has useful & effective information. Remember though, you always want to try to make any spell you do "yours" in some way.

The Romanies say that when money is urgently needed by a certain date, this spell works wonders. One thing to remember: it must be performed at the witching hour of midnight.

Take one white votive candle to represent each $100 or $1,000 that you critically need. Stand them on a plate you often eat from. At a quarter to midnight, sit in a room with no electric lights. Light a gold or silver, green or white candle (not one of those representing money). This is the candle that will give power to the "money" votive candles and will enable you to see what you are doing. Now work your magic. Visualize a circle of gold light being placed around you for protection and for a circle blue light to be placed around you for healing. Pick up a votive candle and light it from the main candle flame. As you do so, say that the votive you are lighting represents the $100, or $1,000, you need. Place it on the plate to begin a circle of "money" candles. Light each votive, and say the same words for each, until the circle is complete. Keep it in your mind that you are not being greedy; that the money is necessary. Leave the candles to burn out of their own accord. The money should start winging its way to you.

Bay Leaf Wishing Spell
Source Unknown (If this is yours, please let me know so I can credit you)

Wishes that are not possible are usually not worth going after. It is important to know what you want and go after it. The Bay leaf possesses powerful magical properties and is used for granting wishes.

Materials:
Bay leaves - 3
piece of paper

When the moon is new, write your wish out on a piece of paper. Now visualize your wish coming true. Fold the paper into thirds and place 3 bay leaves inside. Again, visualize your wish coming true. Now, fold the paper into thirds once again and hide it away in a dark place. Keep visualizing your wish coming true as you do this. Once the wish is granted, the paper should be burned as a thank you.

Thursday This Is Your Spell - Basic Spell Construction

HAPPY BELTANE!

Today's entry isn't a spell, per se, but rather basic information designed to help you create your own spells. While it is acceptable to use a spell someone else has written, that is tried & true, keep in mind that the more of your energy you put into a spell, the more effective it will be for you. With that having been said, here goes :)

BASIC SPELL CONSTRUCTION

Because of the very nature of Magic, each working should be highly individualized and personal. Even if following a traditional spell, it should be tailored to your specific needs to be most effective for you. Understanding the basics of Spell Construction will enable you to formulate your own specific, effective spells for any purpose you desire.

Preliminary planning is necessary. The very first step is to decide precisely what your desired end result is to be. Before you can start, you must decide where you are going. You must be very explicit. It is important, also, that you choose your time carefully. You should take into consideration that all Astrological implications, energy currents and Moon phases can affect the strength of your working. However I firmly believe, the best time to create/cast a spell is when it is needed, not three weeks or months later, when the associations are "right". If it can be delayed until "all the signs are right" that is great, but rarely is that the case. You should try to accommodate as many associations as possible, but this is not strictly necessary.

The Moon is the astronomical body closest to us and, therefore, has a profound influence upon us, it is very important to choose a time when the Moon is in an astrological sign which is appropriate for your working, if at all possible. For example:

Aries/Action - Enthusiasm,

Taurus/Renewal - Sensuality

Gemini/Communication - Curiosity,

Cancer/Emotion - Nurturing,

Leo/Vitality - Determined,

Virgo/Organizing - Studious,

Libra/Balance - Cooperation,

Scorpio/Sexual - Philosophical,

Capricorn/Authority - Ambitious,

Aquarius/Innovation - Social,

Pisces/Sensitivity - Idealistic.

Bear in mind that magical workings for gain, increase or bringing things to you, should be initiated when the Moon is Waxing (from Dark to Full); when the Moon is Waning (from Full to Dark), it is time for magical workings of decrease or sending away. The highest energy occurs at the Full Moon and, therefore, this is the most powerful time for magical workings. The New Moon is the next most powerful time for Magic.

Whenever possible, follow Nature's natural Energy Currents. There is a natural time for starting things (a planting time), for maturing things (a growing time), for reaping things (a harvest time) and, of course, a time for rest and planning. Flowing with these currents will make your magical work much easier.

Remember to plan your project for a time of uninterrupted privacy. It is important that you have no distractions. Generally speaking, it is best to work as late at night as possible. A time when there is less frantic energy is most appropriate. You might consider Midnight or later.

In choosing a place to do your magical working pay particular attention to your needs, for you must be comfortable. Your place should be private, quiet and secure. If at all possible, set aside a special place for this purpose only. An unused room, a special corner of your bedroom, a quiet, secluded spot in your garden. A place that is yours. A place that you can come to whenever need arises and that is as free from intrusion of others as possible.

Prior to the night of your magical working, gather together the things that you will need. All of the things used are tools. They have no inherent magic. They are to help you create a mood. If correctly made and used, they will trigger primitive responses from deep within you. They should be chosen with care. Consider the purpose of your ritual and choose your tools accordingly. If your magic is to be sexual, your candles, oils, incenses and so forth, should bring forth a sexual response. If the desired result of your Magic is Tranquillity, then the tools should make you feel calm, peaceful and serene. Any candles you might use should not have commercially added fragrances as these may not be appropriate for your working.

Prior to your ritual, prepare yourself and your equipment by any means necessary to clean and purify. Historically, people have fasted, followed meticulous and detailed bathing practices, practiced chastity and used many other methods. Most often a Ritual Bath is the preferred method. A bath frequently utilizing candlelight, fragrant herbs, bath salts or sensuous oils. A sumptuous hot bath, special bathing preparations and appropriate lighting, combined, can create the soothing effect which will help in the very important step of relaxing and clearing the mind completely of all mundane thoughts and experiences of the day. Your ritual Bath should, also, begin to set the specific vibrations conducive to your purpose into motion. You must not only cleanse and purify but must, also, begin to create the type of energy necessary.

Once your purification process has been accomplished, you are now ready to begin. Proceed to the special place you have previously chosen in which to perform your magic. If at all possible, you should make use of the primitive responses set into motion by a well chosen piece of music. Your music should start slowly and build to a rousing climax. As you use your oils, light your candle or incense (or utilize any other tool you have chosen), you should begin to further intensify the energy that you have set into motion around you. A high degree of intensity is vitally important. The Altered State of Consciousness that you must reach is not a meditative state. Anything that interferes with your ability to concentrate upon, reach and control the high energy state necessary to perform magic should be avoided. Such as, screaming children, a sink full of dirty dishes, use of alcohol or drugs, etc.

Do not scatter your energy by attempting to do more than one magical working at a time. Remember that Magic is the manipulation of energy, a thought is a form of energy and a visualization is an even stronger form of energy. Your visualization can be a method used to intensify further and direct your will. Your visualization can be the method by which you control the magical energy you have produced. You must know what you want. You must see it. You must feel the high energy flow. You must direct it. One of the most important elements in the practice of any form of Magic is the Universal Law of Cause and Effect. This means that whatever you do (or don't do) you cause something to happen.

The most important consideration is the Universal Law of Retribution. This means that no matter what you do, it comes back to you in like kind. It is the nature of things that as you send something out it gains momentum, so that, by the time it comes back to you, it is three times stronger. If you do something nice for someone, someone will do something nicer for you.

"As you weave and spin your spell,
Three fold return the tale will tell."

Please keep in mind, this is a guide, and not all of these suggestions are requirements. As a matter-of-fact, none of these things are actual requirements. Do they help focus & direct the energy required for a successful spell..? Most assuredly! But in many situations, a spell is needed now! There's no time for preparation, or all the "pretties." I believe you can (and I do) cast a spell on a moments notice! It's all about focusing the energy around you and directing it toward your desired goal. This can be done anywhere at anytime.

OK, I'm done for today :)

Thursday This Is Your Spell - Centering Anger

I'm going to start this particular feature with a somewhat humorous spell, although as with any magic, the energy you put into it determines whether it will be effective. I can't remember where I found this one *if you wrote this please let me know so I can give you credit :)*

When someone has just pushed you to the edge - and it happens - this is a good one to read to make yourself smile, and ease some of the tension....

"I lay curses on you, you wretched fool!
You'll never find the right-sized tool!
Your breath will smell just like your pits,
On top of that, you'll grow big zits!

You're a hateful bastard, you're oh so vile,
So I'll zap each one of your computer files!
You'll never be able to sign "online"
Nobody loves you, you rotten swine!

I'll make your cat hate you, your dog pass gas
I'll make putrid blisters grow on your ass!
I'll have all your in-laws move in to stay,
And make every day a "bad hair day!"

If that's not enough, you filthy scum,
I'll make hairy warts grow on your tongue!
Your CD's scratch, your libido fail,
I'll curse you to only get chain email!

Your friends will all leave you
To the IRS they'll snitch
Perhaps that will teach you....
NEVER PISS OFF A WITCH!"

What we have here...

I'd like to have some structure here (hey...I can dream...) so I am going to try to keep to doing at least one post in a specific category each day. That's the plan anyways. I am thinking something like this...
  • Monday - Make A (Something...) - I will try to post a craft idea, or tip every Monday.
  • Tuesday - Try a New Taste - I hope to post a recipe each Tuesday, some will have magical correspondences, some will just be yummy :)
  • Wednesday - What Herb Is This? - I will try to post a different herb, and relevant information on it each Wednesday.
  • Thursday - This is Your Spell! - I will try to post a different spell each Thursday. There will be various categories in this, such as revenge, money, love, protection, etc.
  • Friday - Form a Circle - This is going to be a different ritual each Friday
  • Saturday - Special Stones - I will list a different gemstone or mineral each Saturday, along with what information I have about correspondences related to it.
  • Sunday - Surprise! - There's no telling what might pop up on Sundays :)

Ok, now I have a plan, let's all hope I can stick to it. I will try really hard. I will also eventually post questions and answers, if I get any...LOL. These items are NOT the only thing that will post here. There will be Sabbat references, stories, personal stuffs, and whatever happens to pop into my mind at any given time. But I hope to keep it all related to magical in someway.
Ok, gotta go for now. See ya laterzzzzzzzz!

Dawtch

Let me start by saying I am a witch. No, not b*tch spelled nicely. A magic practicing, spell casting, broom flying (not really) witch. I will also answer to pagan. I am not a Satanist, although I do consider this to be a valid worship choice. As a matter-of-fact, I consider most all personal choices valid for the person who makes them...but I digress. I do not worship the Devil, sacrifice small animals or children (although there are days when my 5 year old pushes me close to that point, as I am sure all you Moms out there can relate to), I don't dance naked (anymore) around a bonfire (never around a bonfire, the ashes & cinders & salamanders, burning, flying, naked skin, bad combination....). I am not a Wiccan, although I have in rare instances, like hospital registration, claimed Wicca as my religion because it is just easier than trying to explain what I am...I do have an altar in my home.

I have a Civil War spirit that seems to have attached himself to me. Many have scoffed at this statement, but after a few visits to my home, most have been completely convinced of the truth of it. We have named him Clem, which is short for kleptomaniac, as he likes to take stuff. If you ask nicely, in front of Goddess & everyone, he will return said item, usually in short order. But you have to say please. And it has to be a public request - you can't go off by yourself into another room and ask, it won't work. Clem will take anything, and when it is returned, you will find it placed in a "wide open space" where at least three people have looked 4 times each. Like the middle of an empty dining room table...but more on Clem's adventures later. I also have a spirit cat. He's black (go figger...). He doesn't make his presence felt as strongly or as frequently as Clem does, and he doesn't take stuff. He seems to be a protective spirit, and usually becomes more active as my life becomes unsettled.

My husband has this mega-intense energy around him, that seems to "do it all" protect, warn, open channels of communication, etc.

Our son...well, our boy is 5, and he is, apparently, very powerful. He has 3 dragons that surround him. One is Copper, and was the first to allow itself to be seen - by me. The boy was about a month old. He was asleep in his bassinet in our room, and I had come to the end of the hall to check on him. I saw something copper-colored, about knee-high go into the room, just as I looked down the hall. I didn't think much of it as we had a dog at the time, her name was Chai, and she looked like an Irish Setter that had gone through a shrinkray, consequently making her about knee-high. And she loved that boy :) I figured it was her, and didn't think anymore about it. Until I went into the living room to find her curled up contentedly on my hunny's lap...ok.
There is also a white one who revealed herself first to my husband (over five years, I have been given to know that the black is male and the white is female. The copper is pretty much a bodyguard, the white is guardian of emotional and mental related things, and the black is kinda the big dog - he guards wherever the boy may be. This is all the knowledge I have been granted...). Our boy was coming up on a year old, and there were Christmas decorations up. (Yes, I said Christmas, not Yule. It has been "Christmas" to me for well over 35 years, and will always be "Christmas". I know the background, and disinformation put forth by other faiths, and frankly I don't care. Why does it matter what we call it..?) My hunny was standing at the kitchen sink, and I saw him kinda jump from the corner of my eye. I turned to look at him fully and he looked kinda shell-shocked. When I asked what the problem was, he explained that he had just met the boy's white dragon - or at least been graced with a glimpse of her. My hunny is also a witch, and believes every bit as much as I do, but he was shook up. The way he explained it, which makes perfect sense to me, is that you can believe something you can't see with all your heart. But you also have the knowledge that you will probably never see it, either. (Ghosts are a good example of this) So when you do, all of a sudden, get a glimpse, it can be a bit of a shock. Believing & seeing aren't the same thing. And because we don't need to see to believe, we are thoroughly surprised when we do.

The final dragon is a Black one. I have only seen him from the corner of my eye, or as I am drifting towards sleep. But he is the one I see most often.

Our boy is also an awesome healer. He has demonstrated this on several occasions, but the one that stands out most vividly is the first time he did it "on purpose." He was about 3ish. My hunny is a big, strong, rarely-ever-gets-sick-for-more-than-half-a-day redneck of a man. He does however have migraines. Big, ugly migraines. From playing cards at his parents, joking & having fun, to white as a ghost, sweating, puking, and on the way to the hospital in a matter of 10 minutes. Scary stuff, to me. He has self-injectable medicine, now, but doesn't use it unless he absolutely can't get around it as it knocks him out/loopy for about a day and a half (no tolerance for pain meds AT ALL).

On this particular day, he was sitting in the living room, looking limp & pale. He had taken some Aleve, and was almost to the point of taking a shot. I was doing laundry (typical Sunday chores) and running up and down the basement stairs. We still had a gate up, as those stairs just plain out scared me when my boy got close, very slick, very steep. So, hunny is in the chair, and the boy was at the top of the stairs waiting for me to come back up. He hollered something down to me, and I went to the top of the stairs and explained that Daddy's head hurt really bad, and loud noises made it worse, so please don't yell anymore. I went back downstairs (man I don't miss having to go to the basement to do laundry) to complete the laundry shuffle. About 5-10 minutes later I came back up, laundry basket full of clean clothes, and climbed over the gate. My boy was on the kitchen floor playing with his cars, and my hunny was looking at him kinda oddly, and looking decidedly less limp & pale. Apparently, when I went back downstairs, that special little boy went over to his father. He said he was sorry that Daddy's head hurt, kissed him gently on the head, ran his little hand from forehead to crown, licked his fingers and rubbed Daddy's forehead twice with the first two fingers of his right hand. The headache was gone within two minutes, according to my hunny. Anyone who has ever had a migraine knows what a big deal this is. A huge deal. To our boy, it just was. no. big. deal. He was playing as if nothing magical had just occurred, which to me is most magical of all. No need to brag, no need for acknowledgement beyond a thank you from Daddy. Just another thing he had done, and would do again.

This child is also psychic. Very psychic. He has proven this on more occasions than I can count. I will create a post on just this subject in the near future, there is just too much to cover here, but trust me, it's true & it's proven - at least to me & everyone around him, both pagan and non-pagan alike.

Hmmmm, I guess I tend to ramble & wander in thoughts, sorry if anyone is getting dizzy...

Okay, now that you have a little background, I can get down to business :) I am going to try to post spells, rituals, associations, crafts, stories, opinions, and various other assorted stuffs. I imagine a bit of my personal life will creep in here, too. How could it not..? With the way my minds wanders and roams. If I ever leave you truly confused, please let me know and I will try to correct that. I hope something here will be helpful to someone.

Ok that's enough for now :)

See ya laterzzzzzz!
